Bringing Your Dream Wedding Cake From Pinterest To Reality

From venue styling to colour schemes, Pinterest is an excellent tool to help you plan your dream wedding. When we begin working together, the first thing I do is create a Pinterest board. Here you can add all the details of your day as you book them, along with cake designs you love. I can then add designs you might like or may not have considered. One location, we can both access. An excellent source of inspiration!

So how do we utilise this inspiration motherload? From your Pinterest board, I can get a clear idea of your wedding, style, and the cake designs you like and don't like. During your design consultation, we will talk through each image. You will tell me why you have added the pin and what aspect you like the most. We will look at how we can include it in your wedding cake design in different ways and techniques.

Will I recreate a Pinterest Design? Never! The reason is, that cake is someone else's wedding cake. I want to create the perfect wedding cake for you and YOUR wedding. By adding aspects from your already carefully selected design choices. Be that, your invites, venue styling, flowers, the venue, and your life together. We have an opportunity to create a one-of-a-kind work of art, created just for you. So why would we copy someone else's cake?

My 5 Top Tips: 1. You do not need to like the full design. Maybe you like the placement of the flowers, the way the gold leaf has been added or the colour of the tiers. Save it anyway. 2. You can make notes on the pins to let me know why you like the design or which aspect you are focused on. 3. Don't niche down too early! Look at different types of cake, finishes (fondant sugar paste, buttercream and ganache) and styles. 4. Don't just save cake designs, you can add venue images, colour schemes, invites, flowers etc. All of these details will help when we design your cake. 5. As you do more research or your wedding evolves, don't be afraid to cull pins that no longer fit within your vision and your wedding. We want your wedding cake dream board to be filled with inspiration only! I hope you found this blog post interesting and it will help you when beginning your wedding cake research.
